Solid WasteSolid Waste Disposal Service is provided by the City of Mentor-on-the-Lake. Our contract is currently with Republic Services of Ohio Hauling, LLC. Pick up is provided weekly, with yard waste pick up on the same day from the first full week of April to the end of November.
Effective January 1, 2006 Curb-side recycling will end and Drop-off recycling will begin. The drop-off container is located in the City Hall parking lot, 5860 Andrews Road. Please break down cardboard boxes prior to depositing them in the paper bin. Also, if the bins are full, please do not leave items on the ground, the bins are emptied on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The drop-off site is monitored so please deposit recyling items only.
Billing for the solid waste program is done through the City with payments due as follows:
- February 1 for period of February 1 to April 30
- May 1 for period of May 1 to July 31
- August 1 for period of August 1 to October 31
- November 1 for period of November 1 to January 31
The current rate for garbage is $38.00 per quarter.
HOLIDAY PICKUP:
During the week a holiday occurs, collection will be the day after your regular pickup day following the holiday unless the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday (then there will be no delay in service). Observed holidays are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
