About MOLFD
The Mentor on the Lake Fire Department conducts fire suppression, rescue, hazmat operations, fire investigation, fire prevention and EMS operations. We are located approximately 35 miles east of Cleveland, Ohio along the shores of Lake Erie. We protect approximately 9000 people in a small bedroom community about 1.6 square miles.
We operate one station that is staffed 24/7. It is staffed by fulltime firefighters Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm. The station is staffed by parttime firefighters during the other times. Almost half the staff are certified at the paramedic level, with the remainder of the staff at the basic level. Everyone is certified as a firefighter.
